Abstract:
ABSTRACT BACKGROUND Wheat bran has been shown to have health‐promoting benefits in relation to diabetes, colorectal cancer, cardiovascular disease, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, and gastrointestinal disease. However, its effects on obesity, hyperglycemia, hepatotoxicity, and hyperlipidemia are not yet clear. The effects of the consumption of wheat bran of different particle sizes (coarse, 427.55 µm versus ultra‐fine, 11.63 µm) on body weight, serum glucose, liver, and blood lipid metabolism levels in high‐fat‐diet induced rats fed for 5 weeks were investigated. RESULTS The high‐fat diet significantly increased body weight, serum glucose, serum and liver lipids, and malondialdehyde levels. However, addition of coarse and ultra‐fine wheat bran to a high‐fat diet decreased weight gain, reduced the levels of serum and liver total cholesterol, triglycerides, malondialdehyde, serum low‐density lipoprotein, and serum glucose, and improved serum high‐density lipoprotein. Moreover, when two particle sizes were compared, the highest impact was exhibited by the wheat bran containing the larger particle size. CONCLUSIONS The results suggest that micronized wheat bran significantly improves anti‐hyperlipidemic and hepatoprotective properties that might provide a safeguard to protect humans against metabolic syndrome abnormalities and other acute, recurrent, or chronic diseases. © 2018 Society of Chemical IndustryKeywords:

Objective To assess the treatment effects on hyperlipidemia patients and to explore the valid methods to improve the blood lipid disorders.Methods The data of the blood lipid changes after 3 months or longer treatment in 362 hyperlipidemia cases were analyzed and assessed according to China Guidelines for the Control of Blood Lipids Disorders.Results The mean levels of lipids in total cases before the treatment were:TC(7 31±0 94)mmol/L,LDL C(4 39±0 72)mmol/L,TG(3 02±0 56)mmol/L,HDL C(1 29±0 21)mmol/L.After the treatment,the levels of blood lipids were: TC(5 75±0 85)mmol/L,LDL C(3 65±0 76)mmol/L,TG (2 25±0 41)mmol/L,HDL C (1 34±0 43)mmol/L.There was a significant lowering for the first three lipids.The portions of the patients attaining the goals of therapy reached to 29.2% on TC,36.1% on LDL C and 43.5% on TG.The rate was 12.7% for patients whose le vels of TC,TG and LDL C reached the therapy goals at the same time.Conclusion The majority of hyperlipidemia cases received the the rapy in hospital did not attain the goals recommended by China Guideline.In order to improve the effects of the drug therapy and reach the goals,more effective drug therapy should be developed

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum resistin and blood lipids in old male patients.Methods A total of 220 male patients over 80 years old were selected and divided into hyperlipidemia group(n=80) and normal lipid group(n=140) according to their blood lipids level.The serum resistin concentration was measured by ELISA.Results Serum resistin level was significantly higher in hyperlipidemia group than in normal lipid group[(7.16±0.77) ng/ml vs.(6.21±0.63) ng/ml,P0.05].Serum resistin level was negatively correlated with TC,LDL-C,HDL-C(γ=-0.231,-0.254,-0.243,all P0.01),and positively correlated with TG(γ=0.127,P0.01).Resistin was independently correlated with HDL-C after controlling the age and medical history(P=0.017).Conclusions Serum resistin level is higher in old male patients with hyperlipidemia and may be related to the disorder of blood lipid.

Objective: To investigate the relation of Shanghai elderly hyperlipidemia and fatty liver. Methods: The physical examination data of 524 elderly people from Wuliqiao street community health service center were collected. The relationship between hyperlipidemia and fatty liver in the elderly was analyzed by gender and age,the detection rates of hyperlipidemia and fatty liver of different gender and age were compared. Results: The detection rate of triglycerides in the eldly with fatty liver was higher than that in the eldly without fatty liver( P 0. 01). The detection rate of fatty liver in female( 63. 89%) was higher than that in male( 49,5%)( P 0. 01). The detection rate of fatty liver in the elderly with high triglycerides was higher than that in the elderly with normal triglycerides( P 0. 01). Conclusions: Controlling blood lipid levels can reduce the incidence of fatty liver,and prevent Cardiacerebrovascular disease

Objective To study the effects of Qiyue hypolipidemic tablets (QHT) on blood lipid metabolism in hyperlipidemia rats. Methods Wistar rats were divided into 6 groups at random: normal contrast group, hyperlipidemic model group, positive contrast group and QHT 7.0, 3.5, 1.75 g·kg~-1 groups. These rats were continuously fed for four weeks. So the preventive effects of QHT on experimental hyperlipidemic rats could be observed. After the rats were fed with high-fat feed for one week, they were treated with 7.0,3.5, and 1.75 g·kg~-1 doses of QHT for three weeks. The therapeutical effects of QHT on experimental hyperlipidemia in rats were observed. Results Every dose of QHT could decrease the serum TG, TC, LDL-C , TC/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C and AI in hyperlipidemic rats. And the theraputical dose of QHT increased the serum HDL-C in experimental hyperlipidemic rat model. Conclusion QHT have preventive and therapeutical effects in experimental hyperlipidemia rats.

AIM:To analyee the risk factors that affect serum lipids.METHODS:A total of 482 hyperlipidemia patients were chosen from 1526 normal cases examined,and the relationship between food factors and plasma lipids was analyzed by investigating their diet habits.RESULTS:The incidence of hyperlipidemia was 31.58%,Among them,simple hypertriglyceridemia was 17.37%,and simple hypercholesterolemia was 7.93%,and hypertriglyceridemia combined with hypercholesterolemia was 6.29%.The blood lipids in greasy food and sweet food lovers were obviously higher than those of the vegetarians,and there was significant difference(P0.05) between them.Compared with vegetarians,there was no significant difference in blood lipids in smokers and alcoholics.CONCLUSION:The effects of food on serum lipid levels are notable.So,we must call for healthy diet and life styles.

OBJECTIVE To study the adjustive effect of TGLG-1 on the level of serum lipids in hyperlipidemic rats.METHODS The model of hyperlipidemic rats were established.The experimental hyperlipidemic rats were divided into four groups.Among them,one group was received physiological saline by ig administration as hyperlipidemic control.The other three groups were respectively treated with TGLG-1(4g/kg,8g/kg,16g/kg) by ig administration.After 21 days treatment,the serum lipids of each group were determined. RESULTS Compared with the hyperlipidemic control group,it is found that TGLG-1 could significantly decrease the level of cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG) and low density lipoprotein.cholesterol in the serum of experimental groups,as well as remarkably increase the level of high density lipoprotein.cholesterol and the value of(HLD-C)/TC in the serum of the hyperlipidemic rats.CONCLUSION TGLG-1 has the effect to decrease the content of the serum lipids and prevent hyperlipidemia disease.

Objective To study the effects of Jiangzhi Xiaoban tablet on lipid metabolism.Methods The high fat diet with immunologic injury was continued to feed the models with atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia.After treating with the tablet 8 weeks,the blood lipid levels,such as serum TC,TG,LDC-C,HDL-C,ApoA,ApoB and AI were determined.Results Compared with the model group,the tablet could decrease the level of serum TC,TG,LDL-C,and Apo-B,the difference of AI was remarkable(P0.05).Conclusion Jiangzhi Xiaoban tablet is effective to decrease the blood lipid,improve lipid metabolism and reduce hyperlipidemia AI.

To study the effects of FSE(extracts from Forsythia suspense leaves)on hyperlipidemic mice,sixty healthy ICR mice were used as copy animal model of hyperlipidemia.Blood lipids,TC and lipid peroxide in liver were measured.The results showed that FSE could reduce the level of serum TC,TG,LDL-C and raise serum HDL-C level.Moreover,FSE also could reduce TC,MDA level and raise SOD activity in liver.FSE could modulate blood lipids and protect the liver of hyperlipidemic mice.

Objective:( 1) To observe the corraltion between Helicobacter pylori and Cerebral atherosclerosis( stanosis).( 2) To establish a stable model of Helicobacter pylori infection and atherosclerosis. Methods:( 1) Fourty-two New Zealand rabbits were randomized into a control group and an experimental group; control group was given an standard diet,experimental group was fed with high-fat diet. Six weeks later blood lipids was detected,rabbit model of hyperlipidemia was established.( 2) At the same time,according to different processing factors,the experimental group were randomly divided into high fat diet group、Hp infected group and anti-Hp group. Hp infected group and anti-Hp group were injected with standard Hp strain. Anti-Hp group received anti-Hp treatment,and Serum lipid levels,Hcy,hs-CRP,IL-6 were determined during the 6th,8th and 12 nd week of experiment,and CDUS was used to detect the rabbits' s carotid artery intimamedia thickness,plaque size. Results:( 1) To establish Hyperlipidemia model in rabbits,blood Lipid levels at each time point had no obvious change in the high fat diet group,which meant hyperlipidemia was in steady state.( 2) Establish the hyperlipidemia model in rabbits. No significant changes of high fat diet groups in the blood lipid levels of hyperlipidemia,forming stable. Compared with the 6th week experiment,the levels of TC、TG、LDL-C、Hcy、hs-CRP、IL-6 were significantly increased and HDL-C was decreased in Hp infected group during the 8th、12t week( P 0. 05). Anti-Hp group at different time points of the experiment,blood biochemical indexes did not change obviously( P 0. 05).( 3) Three groups of IMT of carotid artery were thickened during the 8th week,Hp infection group formed a small plaque,and the other groups without plaque formation; three groups were formed plaque during the 12 th week( P 0. 05). Conclusion: In Hyperlipidemia model of rabbit,Hp infection could promote chronic inflammation and elevated serum lipid. Hp infection may aggravate the degree of atherosclerotic lesions,It is suggested that Hp infection may affect the inflammatory reaction and lipid metabolism to promote progression of atherosclerosis,At the same time,the anti Hp therapy can reduce inflammatory reaction and blood fat,reduce the severity of carotid atherosclerosis.

Purpose To study the effect of Zhibituo on serum lipid in experimental hyperlipidemia rats.Methods Hyperlipidemia rat model was made by feeding high fat emulsion and treated with different doses of Zhibituo.After 4 weeks,blood lipids were measured respectively.Results Zhibituo could decrease the serum total cholesterol and triglyceride concentration,as well as increase the serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol.Conclusion Zhibituo was effective in modulating the serum lipids in hyperlipidemia rats.
