Angioleiomyoma is a benign tumor formed by the nodular growth of smooth muscle cells surrounding small arteries and small veins. It usually occurs in the intracutaneous or subcutaneous regions of the arms and legs and is rarely found in the oral area. We encountered a case of angioleiomyoma occurring in the palate. We describe this rare case and discuss other cases reported in the literature.

Background: Long-term treatment with low to moderate dosages of the antimetabolite and antifolate medication methotrexate (MTX) has been shown to be effective, safe, and well-tolerated for a wide range of autoimmune diseases. As a result, methotrexate may be used to treat vitiligo and other autoimmune disorders. The hepatotoxic and hematologic side effects of the drug's topical formulations, which were developed for the treatment of localized lesions, were deemed to be clinically insignificant. Objective: This review article aimed to assess the possible role of topical methotrexate in the management of vitiligo. Methods: Methotrexate, and the vitiligo were all looked for in PubMed, Google scholar, and Science direct.References from relevant literature were also evaluated by the authors, but only the most recent or complete studies from January 2005 to May 2021 were included.Due to the lack of sources for translation, documents in languages other than English were ruled out.Papers that did not fall under the purview of major scientific investigations, such as unpublished manuscripts, oral presentations, conference abstracts, and dissertations, were omitted. Conclusion: Topical methotrexate use could be an effective and safe treatment modality of vitiligo.

Abstract Leiomyofn is a bening tumour derived from smooth muscle and is found in a variety of anatomic sites, including skin. Subcutaneous tissues and rarely in oral cavity. The most common sites of oral leiomyomas are the lips, tongue, palate and cheeks. Palatal leiomyomas made up %21 of all oral leiomyomas. A 18 year old girl was referred of our clinic. She had a small, painless swelling, measuring approximately lxl cm, exophytic asymptomatic lesion of the hard palate. The lesion was completely removed with a small margin of clinically healty tissue. The histopathological diagnosis was angioleiomyoma. Case Description We report two cases of oral Blue Nevus. The first case is a 32 years old female patient with a brown-blue lesion on hard palate, with no clinical symptoms that has always been present but that recently has been growing. The case is 36 years old male patient with a brown macule on hard palate. Clinical Findings On case report 1, oral examinations revealed an irregular brown-blue macule, measuring 13 x 6mm on hard palate. On case report 2, oral examination showed an oval brownish macule also located on hard palate. Treatment and Outcome: Excisional biopsy was performed in both cases and histopathology analyses revealed diagnosis of Blue Nevus. Clinical Relevance Diagnosis of pigmented lesions of the oral cavity can be challenging once there are a variety of causes such as racial pigmentation, systemic diseases, use of medication, metal tattooing melanocytic nevus, melanoacanthoma, and melanoma. The correct diagnosys is important to conduct the best management of these lesions, especially the ones with malignancy potential.
