In order to compare orthogonal encoding, five bye encoding, codon encoding (two) and profile encoding to find out their virtues and shortcomings, we carefully studied them with artificial neural network. Results indicate that profile encoding that preserves the redundant evolutionary information gets higher predictive performance. The experimental results show that combining profile encoding and orthogonal encoding can get highest precision of prediction.

The evolution of personnel selection systems has been driven by technological advances and changes in the needs of organizations, referring to the set of processes and tools used by an organization to evaluate and select the most suitable applicants to fill a position within the company, in order to ensure that people with the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to perform the responsibilities and functions associated with the position are hired. It is therefore proposed to implement a personnel selection system, which will help optimize the recruitment and selection process using the competency model and the selection algorithm to choose the best candidates according to the selection criteria established for each job position, resulting in the best candidates for the position with the qualities for which they were chosen.

Many cybersecurity logs contain a substantial volume of textual data regarding security events. This data needs to be converted to numerical types before any machine learning (ML) algorithms can be applied. Feature encoding is the process of transforming textual data into numerical values so they may be applied to ML algorithms, resulting in improved model accuracy. Researchers have used many approaches to convert textual data into numerical values such as, “Label Encoding” “One Hot Encoding” and “Binary Encoding”. These approaches are useful encoding schemes for dealing with large scale text data. We examine the application of these methods to cybersecurity datasets to determine which encoding scheme performs the best when used with a classification ML algorithm in identifying intrusion detections. Experimental results show that label encoding performed the best, whereas one hot encoding was least effective.

Abstract Experimental studies of group selection show that higher levels of selection act on indirect genetic effects, making the response to group and community selection qualitatively different from that of individual selection. This suggests that multilevel selection plays a key role in the evolution of supersocial societies. Experiments showing the effectiveness of community selection indicate that we should consider the possibility that selection among communities may be important in the evolution of supersocial species.

The problem of finite state machine (FSM) encoding for low power in field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) is addressed. In this technology, one-hot encoding is typically recommended for large FSMs and binary encoding for small FSMs. A partitioned encoding approach is proposed which uses a combination of both binary encoding and zero-one-hot encoding with intermediate code size. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed encoding approach can produce significant power savings.
