Design of an Anchor-Shaped Plasmonic Waveguide

An anchor-shaped plasmonic waveguide based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The dispersion characteristic of the anchor-shaped unit cell is simulated, and much lower asymptotic frequency can be obtained compared with the normal corrugated unit cell. The transmission characteristics of this plasmonic waveguide can be manipulated by adusting the depth of the grooves. By introducing the taped transitions, a back-to-back coplanar waveguide - plasmonic waveguide - coplanar waveguide structure is designed to verify the properties of the plasmonic waveguide.
