Plasmonic Lens Based on Elliptically Tapered Metallic Nano Slits

Plasmonic lens using elliptically tapered nanoslits in a gold film to focus light is proposed. Two lenses with designed focal lengths of 2a#x03BC;m and 4a#x03BC;m respectively at 650nm were studied. Simulation results show that the intensity at the focal point of the proposed lens is enhanced as compared to a conventional plasmonic planar lens.
