Topology-Dependent Light Transport in Planar Plasmonic-Photonic Architectures
2015
2-dimensional slab photonic crystals provide in-plane light guiding, but light is weakly coupled to eigenmodes. In contrast, planar plasmonic crystals efficiently couple light to quasiguided modes, but they suffer strong dissipation. To take advantages of both we designed hybrid architectures consisting of photonic and plasmonic crystals [1]. Various types of light-matter interaction were realized by controlling the hybrid topology.
