Influence of FWM effect and cavity anisotropy on the characteristics and applications of transverse Zeeman lasers

1988
Influence of four-wave mixing (FWM) effect and cavity anisotropy on the beat frequency characteristics and waveform distortion in transverse Zeeman lasers are studied. Physical mechanism of this phenomenon is explained, and the influence of wave distortion on phase detection by the optical heterodyne technique, important in the application of Zeeman lasers, is discussed.
