For a rapid, homogeneous and force-free as possible, applying a fluid to a substrate according to the present invention, a nozzle assembly is provided for applying a liquid to a substrate, which apparatus comprises a nozzle body arranged with a plurality of substantially on a line nozzles and in having substantially vertically extending deflecting plate with a straight lower edge, and wherein the nozzles are directed above the lower edge of the baffle plate, so that a liquid film on the baffle plate forms which flows over the lower edge.
