A broadband rejection filter based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons

2017
In this paper, a broadband rejection filter was designed, which is a particle chain consisting of sinusoidal enveloped meander-line unit cells. The unit cell is a plasmonic metamaterial that supports spoof SPP to propagate. The filter can achieve about 0.8GHz (9.2 to 10GHz) rejection band in microwave frequency, numerical simulation results and 2D near field results in different frequency were shown. We also gave a quantitative study of the relation between the location of the rejection band and the period of the unit cell for design purposes. Our proposed structure has the potential to be used in design of integrated devices, circuits and systems.
