Fast Analysis Algorithm for LTCC Laminated Ridge-Waveguide Filters

This paper presents a novel fast analysis algorithm, which is designed for analyzing laminated ridge-waveguide bandpass filters based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. The filter is regarded as a two-port network formed by alternately cascading of resonators and inverters, which can be both regarded as two-port sub-networks. By multiplying the transfer matrixes of the sub-networks in turns, the transfer matrix of the entire filter is obtained, and further the scattering parameters can be calculated. Since the sub-network‘s transfer matrix is acquired in advance and stored as a data file, the whole calculation process is very fast. An example of a third-order bandpass filter is presented to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the algorithm, and the results turn out to be good.
