Comparative analysis of certain features of the long-term softening of scaling-resistant and refractory metals

1983
The problem of evaluating the performance of products made of refractory metals for periods of i0,000 h or more is becoming more important [i]. There is very little corresponding empirical data on the mechanical properties of these metals. In connection with this, it is interesting to conduct a comparative analysis of features of the long-term softening of scaling-resistant and refractory metals so as to somehow make use of the results of direct experimental studies of the mechanical properties of such metals for i0,000 h or more to predict their service properties.
