To summarize the technical features of supercritical CFB (circulating fluidized bed) boilers,analyzed were the parameter selection for supercritical boilers and the reasons why CFB boilers are more suitable than pulverized coal boilers for adopting supercritical parameters.The status quo of the study on supercritical CFB boilers both at home and abroad was described in detail.An analysis and comparison of the versions of a supercritical 600 MW CFB boiler for Baima Project proposed by three domestic boiler manufacturers shows that there exists no overriding technical barrier in the design of a supercritical CFB boiler.Moreover,the supercritical CFB combustion technology will become an important clean coal-based power generation technology for coal-fired power plants in China.However,with the in-depth development of research on supercritical CFB boilers,some relevant problems still merit further study and investigation.

Circulating Fluidized Bed combustion shows excellent environment emission characteristic in commercial application,while its net electricity efficiency is lower compared with IGCC,PFBC,et al.thus the higher steam parameter should be used in CFB power plant.General speaking,there is no risk in CFB combustion technology and supercritical steam cycle,supercritical circulating fluidized bed their combination combines their advantages in the areas such ash fuel cost,material cost and facture level.The update progress of supercritical CFB boiler is introduced in this paper.

If lignite coal with high moisture content is used directly for the power plants burning, it will leads to reduce of boiler thermal efficiency and power plant net efficiency, it is very important to study the influence of lignite coal drying to the economic of power plant. Taking a 300 MW coal fired boiler as an example, the change of burning in boiler, heat exchanger on heating surface, smoke and ventilation system resistance and output capacity of coal milling are analyzed, and the influence of lignite coal drying to boiler thermal efficiency, coal consumption, fans and coal pulverizing system power consumption are obtained. Taking a 300 MW coal fired boiler as an example, the thermal analysis shows that burning of the dried lignite coal can not only significantly reduce the quantity of coal, but also improve the boiler thermal efficiency, reduce the power consumption of feed fan, induced fan, and coal pulverizing system. The power plant economics when burning lignite with and without drying are evaluated, and the conclusion could offer a reference to the decision making of both the coal drying enterprise and power plant.

The operation safety of boiler is closely related to the coal quality.The key points are caloric value of coal,the fusing characteristics of coal ash and the temperature at furnace center.After combustion,the temperature at the furnace center and the coal ash state play an important role in the safe operation of boiler.The purpose of blending coal in proportion to different kinds of coal fuel is to adjust the fusing characteristics of coal ash to ensure the safe operation of the boiler.

The general developing situations,principal design problems and main overseas furnace types of supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler are introduced.The main technical features,structure and system arrangement of Dongfang 600 MW supercritical CFB boiler are described in detail.It is indicated that the China's boiler manufacturers are capable of supplying advanced large-scale supercritical CFB boilers to the users.

The feasibility of the supercritical pressure circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is investigated from not only technique but also economy. It is analyzed why there are less technical difficulties when the main steam pressure is supercritical in CFB boiler than that in pulverized combustion (PC) boiler. The economy indexes are calculated taking an example of 600 MW, and the results show that supercritical pressure circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is also feasible in economy.

Aiming at the particularity of startup and operation of the supercritical boiler units,the startup system scheme of 600MW supercritical circulation fluidized bed(CFB) boiler was proposed.The operating process features of the supercritical CFB boilers during cold and hot startup were analyzed,and the referenced cold and hot startup curves were presented.Moreover,the technical measures of the optimized operation for startup and shutdown,the regulating and controlling technologies of the main operating parameters,emission control for the pollutants NO_x/SO_2 as well as the sustained combustion technology under low load of boiler were described,which offer reference for the successful commissioning of the 600MW supercritical CFB boiler unit.

The good effect was achieved,when the DG 440/13.7-112 type circulating fluidized bed(CFB)boiler burned Yima low grade coal.The paper briefs the combustion features and existing problems in the operation process of CFB boiler while burning Yima coal,as well as the optimization method in the actual operation process,for example,to raise the standard of vibrating screen,add the starting bed material,raise the bed pressure,control the bed temperature,slag disposal,and primary and secondary air quantity etc.

The supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is a very promising clean coal combustion technology with the combination of the advantages of the CFB combustion technology and the supercritical pressure steam cycle. Some primary problems such as the furnace structure, the arrangement of the heat surface etc. were all discussed in this paper. And based on the discussion, we put forward a primary design of a 600MWe supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler. At last, with reference to the results of the thermal calculation, we forecast the main operation parameters of the boiler and discussed the infection of the change of the boiler load on some main parameters of the boiler.
