Abstract:
Perioperative nurses are expected to demonstrate strict adherence with asepsis principles to prevent surgical site infections (SSIs) as breaching of these principles poses a serious risk of infection to surgical patients.A descriptive survey was conducted with a convenience sample of 87 perioperative personnel to describe self-reported compliance with the principles of asepsis during surgery. The purpose of this study was to examine the practices of perioperative scrub personnel with surgical asepsis.A sizable percentage of participants indicated that they never or rarely observe breaches in the sterile field during surgery with regards to open suction drain systems (46.6%; n = 41), closed suction drain systems (46.6%; n = 41), suture material (39.7%; n = 35), use of surgical instruments (37.5%; n = 33), and prosthetic implants (56.8%; n = 50). Perioperative scrub RNs were less likely to wear shoe covers during surgical procedures than ORTs (M = 3.42 and 4.17; mdn = 3.00 and 5.00 respectively; p = .026).The findings showed areas of compliance and noncompliance with the principles of asepsis. Given that the role of the perioperative nurse is paramount in maintaining surgical integrity, and enhancing positive patient outcomes, strict adherence to surgical asepsis is vital to prevent SSIs and other complications. Keywords:

Objective To analyze the perioperative nursing procedure of patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods Retrospective analysis of the perioperative nursing of the 189 cases with Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy were conducted in our hospital from April of 2009 to December of 2010.Results Peribiliary conglutination occurred in 2 cases and received abdominal operation. All patients were cured and discharged. Conclusion In laparoscopic cholecystectomy, perioperative nursing can effectively reduce the surgical complications.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and value of PPH in treating severe hemorrhoids.Methods:32 patients with symptomatic circular hemorrhoids performed surgical therapy with PPH(US Qiang sheng Comp). Results:All operations were successful at one time without perioperative hermorrhage and severe postoperative complications. The mean duration of operation was 25 mins, that of hospitalization was 3.2 days. Conclusion:Surgical therapy with PPH is effective and simple in treatment of severe symptomatic hemorrhoids with less pain and postoperative complications and early recovery and shorter hospitalized time.

Background: the modes of failure of total knee replacement(TKR) can be classified as intra-articular or extraarticular, as biological or mechanical, as early or late.Aseptic loosening is one of leading cause of failure of total knee replacement.Purpose: it was to spot light on different surgical strategies; to assess the results of 20 cases of revision total knee arthroplasty after aseptic loosening of primary total knee arthroplasty.Materials and Methods: this is a prospective interventional study which was conducted during the period from June 2016 to April 2019 with mean follow up two years. It included 20 patients (20 knees) which were undergone for revision TKR due to aseptic loosening of knee prosthesis. These cases were operated at Al-Azhar University hospitals (Al Hussein & Bab El Shaeria). Results: the average knee society score (KSS) was 79 (range from 55 to 94) compared with an average preoperative KSS of 38 (range from 28 to 48).The mean knee function score at the last follow up was 72 (range from 35 to 95) compared with the mean preoperative knee function score of 31 (range from 10 to 55).Conclusions: results of revision TKA due to polyethelene (PE) wear and its resultant osteolysis were mostly satisfactory to the patients,

Objective To investigate the influence of perioperative nursing intervention on the effects of patients undergoing thyroid lobectomy. Methods The nursing data of 86 patients undergoing thyroid lobectomy was analyzed respectively. Results In these patients,1 cases occured temporary cerchnus,1 case occured dyspnoea caused by hemorrhage of incision, they all treated properly in time and discharged,no complications were observed in other 84 patients. Conclusion Perfect preoperative preparation, enhanced postoperative observation and improved nursing quality could prevent and reduce the post-operative complications, and thus reduce postoperative morbidity.

Abstract Sterile technique is an essential patient safety principle that reduces the risk of microbial transmission to patients during surgery. The ability to establish and maintain a sterile environment is an important skill for all perioperative team members. Understanding the principles of sterile technique is crucial for anyone entering the perioperative environment. This Back to Basics article reviews sterile technique and the importance of all perioperative team members adhering to aseptic principles.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical features of diabetic patients with femoral neck fracture and the best nursing mode.MethodsThe perioperative clinical and nursing features of 21 diabetic patients with femoral neck fracture were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsAll patients received standardized, specific and their recovery rate was 100%,excellent rate of function score was 90.5%.ConclusionFor diabetic patients with femoral neck fracture, nursing intervention measures should be based on the clinical characteristics. And strengthening the monitoring of blood glucose and preventing complications of diabetic can reduce perioperative complications and promote the rehabilitation of patients.
