    Abstract:
    Based on starting characteristic of traditional diesel engine, the starting demands of electronic controlled diesel engine are analyzed. The starting control logic in the electronic controlled diesel engine is established with the help of electronic control unit in high pressure common rail. The fuel quality supplied during starting process is calculated by MAP method, and its adjustment is made with the ramp function. Finally, the starting control system in high pressure common rail diesel engine is designed.

    The performance of Diesel engine control system influence the engine combination property directly. The traditional mechanical control system can't meet the requirements of the fuel consumption and emissions. We should turn to the advanced electronic control system. This article introduced the basic frame and control mode of low-speed common rail diesel engine electronic control system, and according to the control object, the whole control system is divided into different modules to detailed analysis.

    In this paper ,the starting condition calibration of a diesel engine fixed with VP37 electronic distribution pump is studied. With the aid of advanced real time measurement and post-process function of VS100 and exhaust emission measurement with VS100, the effect of control parameters of the fuel injection system on the starting process is analyzed. The crankshaft speed analysis is an easy method to accurately judge the misfire of each cylinder. And the control parameters of starting module of the electronic control fuel injection system are confirmed based on measuring the performance of exhaust emission and starting. The calibrated diesel engine starts smoothly, and the exhaust emission is low.

    Tests were done to research the influence of fuel supply map during the starting process of electronic controlled diesel engine in using the electronic controlled diesel engine which was combined with CA498Z diesel engine, VP37 electronic controlled distributor injection pump management system and VS100 calibration system. Calibration process of starting fuel supply map was educed under the principle of low HC emission and rapid starting speed. The calibrating methods of starting fuel supply map were obtained through the tests.

    Based on Freescale 9S12 16-bit electronic control unit,the start process of common rail diesel engine was divided into four phases,which were initial phase,acceleration phase,transition phase and steady phase.The optimization scheme of control strategy was put forward in accordance with the feature of each stage.The simulation model of fuel injection was established with the Matlab/Simulink software.After the offline optimization,the model was calibrated on a 4JB1 high-pressure common rail diesel engine.The results show that the start process of diesel engine is fast and its transition process is stable after the optimization.

    Independent electronically-controlled high pressure common rail system was used to explore cold starting strategies of CA6DL1-32 diesel engine,and cold starting control algorithms were designed,including main injection fuel,main injection timing and staring object pressure.It was showed by results that performance for cold starting capability of the engine can be extremely improved through independent common rail system and optimized control strategies without any auxiliary devices,so code starting capability of the engine can meet actual requirements of automobile.

    Tests were done to investigate the influence of the battery voltage on the start behavior of an electronically controlled diesel engine which is integrated from a conventional diesel engine CA498Z produced by Dalian Diesel Engine Works,a VP37 electronically controlled distribution type fuel injection pump management system produced by BOSCH company,and a calibration system which is matched with the management system.The test results show that for the tested diesel engine there is an optimal lowest starting speed which corresponds to the minimal energy consumption of the battery and the successful starting of the engine.
