    Abstract:
    In order to prevent large scope blackouts, the paper has established a model of power system cascading failures from the perspective of risk .Taking both the load of branch and the power flow changes into account, the model defines the probability of branch outage which can reflect the real-time operating condition. The consequences severity of cascading failure is measured by bus low voltage, power line overload level and the amount of isolated loads. In the process of searching fault link, the paper uses the structure transmission importance of branch to determine the next breaking branch, which can speed the search of the cascading failure mode. The simulation of the IEEE 39-node system shows the effectiveness of the method.

    To restrain the scale of cascading failure in small-world power network,according to the propagation model of cascading failure in power network the propagation characteristics of cascading failure in small-world power network is analyzed,and it is pointed out that the cascading failure is the result of combined action of the spread of propagation range and the accumulation of propagation intensity and the repeated infection of the failure in high clustering area is the key to trigger avalanche.A new strategy to suppress cascading failure is proposed,that is,comprehensively considering the overall status of power network at the moment of failure occurrence and specific features of initial failure,by means of switching-off a small quantity of nodes with low loads the load fluctuation in high clustering area can be mitigate to restrain the persistent accumulation of failure propagation intensity,thus the scale of cascading failure can be reduces.Simulation results show that using the proposed method,the threshold condition of power network can be improved to prevent the spread of cascading failure.

    The synergetic concept on precaution of power system cascading failures is presented and a precautionary model for cascading failures is established,and system cascading failure risk coefficient that reflects the distance between operation point of power system and self-organized critical point as well as branch cascading failure risk coefficient that characterizes incident extent among branches of power system are led into the established model.By means of comparing the searching process of cascading failure mode with Chinese character input method for mobile phone,a hybrid method based cascading failure mode searching method is proposed.The search results by the proposed method show that by use of this model the threaten extent of cascading failures under different operating modes can be compared,and the solving process of this model can be used as the foundation to prevent single cascading failures.Thus the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed model in the prevention of power system large-scale blackout is validated.

    Aiming at cascading overload aroused by power flow transition and based on direct current flow algorithm,this paper analyzes the triggering factors of cascading failure in power network.Through analysis,this paper points out that the triggering factors of cascading failure mainly comprise initial flow,network structure,branch parameter and initial outage branch of power network when an initial outage event happpens in a system of fixed power source capacity and fixed load.Furthermore,a method of obtaining the limited flow condition under which cascading failure will occur is proposed,and an example with IEEE-14 system is presented.The research shows that the limited flow condition is not exclusive,but some rational and credible limited flow condition which will provide guidance for practical operation can be obtained.

    Based on DC flow algorithm,the key correlation factors for cascading successive failures are analyzed.Furthermore,with the probability model of hidden failure of relay considered,the sensitive behaviors in cascading successive failures are analyzed,and effects of the key correlation factors on the sensitive behaviors are analyzed.Then,based on the key correlation factors and the sensitive indexes,and from the view of subjecting and actuating,the basic structure and algorithm for distinguishing sensitive areas in power network under the condition of cascading successive failures are proposed.Some examples with IEEE 39-bus test system show the rationality of the algorithm.

    Cascading failure of network features in power system is analyzed in this paper using complex network theory and method, and Central China power grid are analyzed in detail on the three kinds of attack forms (maximum load, the most generous attack and random attack) of regional vulnerability.     To better explore the universal robustness against cascading failures on complex networks,closely focusing on the load which is the most important physical quantity that can affect the occurrence and spread of cascading failure,and dynamic process after a node fails,a cascading model with tunable parameters is proposed based on the local characteristic of a node.We obtain numerically the relation between the robustness against cascading failures on complex networks and parameters in the model,and discuss the effect of the average degree of a network for cascading failures.In addition,simulation results also are verified by the analysis of the different network graphs and the theory.

    This paper analyzes the network features of power grid with buses’ cascading failures based on the theories and methods of complex networks. And it concludes detailed vulnerability analysis of buses in Huazhong power grid under three forms of attack (maximum load attack, maximum degree attack and random attack) .It provides technical means for the prevention of cascading failure .

    Appropriate number of power grid buses is the base of experimentation on RTDS.The number of entire power grid buses is reduced to sixteen or nineteen,and the problem of the insufficient capability of RTDS is solved.The results from steady state power flow calculation before and after the simplification show that the distortion before and after the simplification are fairly little,and it satisfies the request of RTDS simulation.
