    Abstract:
Abstract The linear dichroic spectra of DNA-Crystal Violet complexes under flow were measured in the visible absorption region of Crystal Violet at three mixing ratios. The reduced dichroism was both positive (>620 nm) and negative (620–400 nm). The average angles between the transition moments and the orientation axis were estimated.

Several kinds of dichroic plate have been developed in NASA and ESA. Those dichroic currently being used in the DSN are metal plate with array of holes and operated in different frequency band. New dichroic plates are developing for future mission.

The hexagermane Pr(i)3Ge(GePh2)4GePr(i)3 has been synthesized and is not only the first such linear oligogermane to be structurally characterized but also is the first such compound to exhibit fluorescence and dichroic properties when observed under different orientations of plane polarized visible light.

Experimental circular dichroic (CD) spectra of three proteins have been combined with estimates of the content of peptide-chain structural modes obtained from x-ray diffraction studies of the same proteins. Solution of the simultaneous equations at a series of wavelengths permits the construction of a CD spectrum for each of three structural modes: alpha-helix, beta-structure, and the so-called "random". The CD spectra thus obtained are compared with those obtained from polypeptide models. The alpha-helical spectra from the two approaches are nearly congruent, the beta-structure spectra are in fair agreement, and the third forms agree qualitatively, but are substantially different quantitatively. Comparisons are made between the present approach and earlier approaches to interpreting protein CD spectra. Certain advantages of the present approach are indicated.

Linear dichroic filters polarize electromagnetic radiation by anisotropic absorption. This paper describes the general characteristics of these dichroic polarizers and discusses some of their applications. Spectral data are presented for dichroic polarizers for the near ultraviolet, the visible (neutral and colored) and the near infrared regions.

Dichroic mirrors are widely applied in optical and photonic systems due to their light and spectral management capability. We report the fabrication of large-area dichroic mirrors by multilayer inkjet printing. Our approach allows for the additive manufacturing of dichroic structures in different sizes, variable lateral patterns, large areas, and flexible substrates.

Dichroic mirrors, as core optical elements, are widely used in biomedical testing instruments based on the principles of absorbance detection, fluorescence detection and Raman detection. In this paper, the application principle of dichroic mirrors for biomedical detection was introduced, and some key technical indexes for high-performance dichroic mirrors were proposed according to their application characteristics. With the equivalent layer substitution method, a dichroic mirror film system of high-performance based on two conventional materials was designed. Using the plasma assisted reactive magnetron sputtering technology, the dichroic mirror film system with 146 layers was coated, and a kind of dichroic mirror with some important technical indicators such as high steepness (<1%), depolarization (polarization separation <3.5nm), wide range of high transmission (T>96% range > 300nm) was manufactured. The influence of wavefront distortion of dichroic mirror on imaging was described in detail. Our dichroic mirrors can meet the performance of low transmitted wavefront distortion (TWD<λ/4) and low reflected wavefront distortion (RWD<λ/2). The manufactured dichroic mirror products showed satisfying application results when used in high-end medical testing instruments with fine imaging requirements.

The incorporation of dichroic nanoparticles in 3D printable plastic results in a dichroic nanocomposite material that can be easily 3D printed. Gold nanoparticles that shows dichroic properties have been embedded in polyvinylalcohol, a standard 3D printable plastic. The nanocomposite shows dichroic properties and standard printability properties.
