Synthesis and structure of BiMnPO5

Abstract The new compound BiMnPO 5 was prepared, and its structure determined using powder neutron diffraction data. The space group is P2 1 /n with a =7.4339(3) A, b =11.356(4) A, c =5.3577(2) A, β =109.19(2)°, and Z =4. The structure may be viewed as connected Bi 2 O 10 , Mn 2 O 10 , and PO 4 groups.
