Multi Transient Electromagnetic method in shallow water: a case history in the Mediterranean sea

2010
In this paper we discuss an application of the Multi Transient Electromagnetic method (MTEM) in a shallow water area of the Mediterranean Sea. The objective of the survey was to test this novel methodology and, at the same time, to de-risk the hydrocarbon prospects located in the block. Water depth was about 90 m and the target depth was ranging from 1800m to 2300m. The presence of two calibration wells helped in understanding the benefit and the limitations of the methodology itself.
