The co-fermentation of fuel ethanol produced from kitchen garbage by double strains.
2011
A mildew which had the amylase and cellulase activities simultaneously was screened by activity identification of fungi sample. The result of morphological and molecular identifica-tion showed that the strain was a new Rhizopus oryzae(named TZY1).Rhizopus oryzae TZY1 and Saccharomyce scerevisiae were co-inoculated into the kitchen garbage for fuel ethanol fermenta-tion.Without any enzymes addition, most starch and cellulose were consumed after fermentation.According to the result of detection, the ethanol productivity was approximately equal to the si-multaneous saccharification fermentation(SSF),the utilization of starch was more than 88%,and cellulose was about 84%.Compared with SSF,the method could partly avoid the decrease of ethanol production caused by inactivation of enzymes. For it is relatively simple and inexpensive, the method in the paper provided a good prospect of industrialized application.
