Compensate for the aging of oxygen sensors

Various methods are provided, to compensate for variations of the ratio between the impedance setpoint and operating at an oxygen sensor. In one embodiment, a method of operating an oxygen sensor includes adjusting an impedance setpoint based on a change of the dry air-pumping current of the oxygen sensor.
