Effective schemes of samarium atom three-photon ionization

Abstract A number of frequencies have been found when studying the Sm atom three-photon ionization, being characterized by extremely high efficiency of Sm + ion production. All of them correspond to the sequential two-photon excitation of high-lying even states via the lower odd states. Such transitions could be used for effective ionization of samarium atoms when dealing with different applied problems.
