MANAGEMENT, CONTROL AND EXPERT SYSTEMS ONBOARD

This paper deals with some present techniques in ship management and control. It refers to ship of the future projects, basic control theories and system analysis. Developments in automation of management support and possible links to computer-based control systems are discussed. Expert systems are mentioned as tools to define control-plans for management support systems.
