Security and Resilience in Critical Infrastructures

Critical infrastructures (CIs) are very important for the growth and development of our society, drastically affecting most of the everyday activities. However, CIs are vulnerable to various kinds of threats and can also be affected by natural disasters. Aiming to respond to network vulnerability and to ensure their security and resilience, suitable proactive and reactive measures have to take place to guarantee efficient protection. The RESISTO platform is an innovative solution for situation awareness, enhanced resilience, operational readiness, and effective incident management. Based upon an integrated risk and resilience analysis process availing all resilience cycle phases, RESISTO implements a holistic approach for CI operators. This aims to protect CIs from cyber-physical threats on a suite of state-of-the-art cyber/physical security components and services for detection and response. The proof of concept is being held through communication CI cases; however it can adequately be expanded also to other CI types.
