A simple polarographic method for analysis of uranium in ores
1971
A simple polarographic method for analysis of uranium in ores was presented using potential buffer reagent. Ores of Ningyo Pass were employed as a sample. Uranium was extracted by 6N sulfuric acid aqueous media from the ores which powdered in below 100 mesh-size. Aluminum and iron ions were removed by adding sodium carbonate. Solutions for polarographic measurements were prepared directly from this filtrate : Using a potential buffer solution which was made up of Menzel buffer reagent and sodium sulfate, well-defined polarographic waves were obtained. Uranium content in the fine particle part of the powder sample was found to be 1.45%. This procedure may be proposed as a simple and rapid method for the determination of uranium content in ores.
