Pembuatan Komposit Kalsium Fosfat-Kitosan dengan Metode Sonikasi

2009
SETIA UTAMI DEWI. Synthesizes of Calcium Phosphate-Chitosan Composite by Sonication Method. Under direction of KIAGUS DAHLAN and DJARWANI SOEHARSO SOEJOKO. Formation of biomaterial composite consisting of organic matrix and inorganic mineral has been studied. The inorganic minerals used hydroxyapatite and hydroxyapatite and carbonated apatite compound that was result reaction of calcium from calcinations of chicken eggshell at 1000C and phosphor in the form of diammonium hydrogen phosphates. Whereas the organic matrix was a commercial chitosan originated from shrimp shell. To produce the composite, both of apatite was mixed with chitosan using sonication method. The result samples were further dried at 50°C. Used calcium phosphate is hysroxyapatite as stable crystal and carbonated apatite as resorbable crystal. That calcium phosphate results from optimation process. Percentages of chitosan and calcium phosphate that used are 20:80 and 30:70. Another was studied influence percentages of hydroxyapatite and hydroxyapatite-carbonated apatite compound. Characteristics of the samples were performed using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. Identification phase from XRD profile shown there are not change calcium phosphate compound phase. Added chitosan influences to crystalline degree where an increase of chitosan tends to decrease crystalline the composite. Chitosan presenting was shown by N-H and C-H bands transmittance from FTIR spectrum. The SEM micrograph also showed granules of apatite carbonate and rod of hydroxyapatite. Increase of chitosan tends to increase of composite density.
