Vulnerabilidad de las áreas boscosas de la Parroquia Checa a incendios forestales por causas antropogénicas

2018
The study of the vulnerability of the forest area of the Czech Parish, located in the Metropolitan District of Quito, is due to the need to determine how prone certain areas of the national territory are to suffer catastrophic events of a natural order due to influences of human activity. Vulnerability is directly associated with risk, which is a statistical study value. The knowledge of the variables that can contribute the level of vulnerability that the region possesses goes through the analysis of the climatic history of the region, as well as the natural conditions of the area, the statistical record of extraordinary events in Checa and how many of those events are have originated by the action or inaction of the human species. Two mathematical-based methods were used: weighted factors and Geo-statistics applied to risk analysis (experimental method with statistical basis) as data processing tools. Subsequently, a comparative analysis of the risk indexes (frequency, seriousness, causality) of the Czech Parish is made with respect to the Nayon Parish, also of the DMQ, with similar geographical characteristics. As a result, it is emphasized that the Czech parish has low vulnerability to be affected by forest fires because of the action of man, the method provides geographical distribution of the indices, providing important information regarding the risk regions, which is an important starting point in relation to the territorial planning of the area.
