Prediction of Short-term Stroke Risk after Transient Ischemic Attack

2012
Patients who suffered from transient ischemic attack(TIA) are at risk of stroke. However,if some simple effective assessments and predictive measures can be done to the TIA patients timely, and then filtering out the high-risk patients and treating them with some aggressive treatment measures,it is possible to prevent the occurrence of secondary stroke.Recently, along with the development in the research of TIA,the assessment tools for the stroke which secondary to the TIA are constantly being improved. Here we summarize the tools which evaluate the risk of stroke after TIA,and focus on the ABCD2 scores,ABCD3 scores and some other extended tools which acts on the assessment of stroke secondary to the TIA.
