Phase transitions in S=1 antiferromagnet with Ising-like exchange interaction and strong easy-plane single-ion anisotropy

Abstract Spin states of strongly anisotropic easy-plane antiferromagnet with Ising-like exchange interaction in the external magnetic field are investigated within the mean-field approximation. It is shown that the influence of strong single-axis exchange anisotropy considerably changes both the dynamic and static properties of the system. The types of the phase transitions and the phase diagram are determined.
