Necessity of developing gas-steam combined cycle units in Guangdong and performance analysis of the units

This paper expounds the necessity of developing gas-steam combined cycle units in Guangdong,China as well as the fuel supply for this kind of units.Through the comparison with conventional thermal generator sets,the superiorities of gas-steam combined cycle units in efficiency,environmental protection,water consumption,etc.are analyzed.In light of the internationally dominant F-class gas-steam combined cycle units,a comparative analysis is made of the unit performance and configuration optimization scheme.It is concluded that F-class gas turbines are suitable for combined cycle units,and single-shaft units are superior to multi-shaft ones as two-shift peaking units.
