The problem of the using of avalanche photodiodes as photo-receiver for control of changes in parameters of fiber-optic lines based on the reception of the external radiation. The special features of functioning and the working conditions of avalanche photodiode are analyzed. The need for signal amplification is identified and justified and the coefficient of amplification and the relation signal/noise of the output signal for further processing are calculated.
