Airbag device for a vehicle, comprising: a head air bag main body (17) which is arranged along a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body while it is covered with a pillar garnish (41) and a roof lining (42), and in a front or rear pillar portion (7) and a roof side rail portion (30) the vehicle body is folded, to unfold in a passenger compartment downwards, and a fastener (46) attached to the pillar garnish (41) to the pillar portion (7); in which: the head airbag main body (17) is provided with a threaded portion (17b) which is wound so that an initial deployment force, which located in inflation and deployment of the closest of the pillar trim (41) head airbag main body (17) produced is acting in a separating direction in which the pillar garnish (41) away from the pillar portion (7) is released to suspend the pillar trim (41) towards the interior of the passenger compartment; a regulating member (21b) for regulating at least one of upward movement of the winding portion (17b) on at least an upper surface of the coiled portion (17b) is provided, and wherein the regulating member (21b is disposed at a vehicle body side; the wound portion (17b) is provided with an accordion-shaped folded portion which is folded so that a direction in which respective portions of the folded curtain airbag main body (17) are superimposed on each other, the separating direction follows; ...
