Internal right atrial cardioversion of chronic atrial fibrillation: Effects of low-energy biphasic shocks

1998
Abstract In conclusion, this study shows that low or moderate energy internal cardioversion is safe and effective in restoring sinus rhythm in patients with AF. Further technical improvements should simplify the procedure and lower the energy delivered without altering the success rate to avoid or at least limit the need for anesthesia.
