Ionization in the gas phase with fast atom bombardment. Formation of molecular ions
1986
Abstract When a vaporized organic sample is introduced into a mass spectrometer operating in the FAB mode, molecular cations are produced. The abundance of ions is very dependent on the energy of the atoms in the beam. The extent of fragmentation varies with the gas employed in the beam and shows variations similar to those observed under charge-transfer ionization conditions.
