Comparative Analysis between Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Power Transformer in Different Operating Modes

2019
This paper describes the researching results of power transformer with different accounting of magnetic core parameters. Prototype model was laboratory auxiliary power transformer of the department "Electrical stations" with rated power and voltage 25 kVA and 6 kV respectively. Software used in this research represented by EMTP-RV. During simulation are used built-in equipment macromodels; e.g. three phase transformers, rotating machines, switches, power lines etc. Power transformer study was including 2 types of model. In first model was used transformer with initial magnetization curve with calculation based on a simplified method, which estimated dependence between magnetic flux and magnetizing current. The second model considered major hysteresis loop, with which minor hysteresis loops can be obtain. Model verification carried out by comparison calculated data and full-scale experiment. The results of the research inrush current were analyzed. Advantages and disadvantages of each model and terms of use were determined.
