Plasmon-Enhanced Fluorescence of Carbocyanine J-Aggregates in Layered Polymer Films

TDBC J-aggregates reveal a very small fluorescence quantum yield of $\sim 0.5$% in layered polymeric films due to effective exciton self-trapping. We showed that by using an effect of fluorescence plasmon-enhancement, it is possible to increase the TDBC J-aggregate fluorescence more than two times due to their interaction with gold nanoparticles at a certain distance.
