Paleoperfiles de alteración en sustrato granítico en el borde de la Cuenca Surporenaica Oriental

2000
The Eastern South Pyrenean Eocene Foreland Basin, located in the eastern margin of the Ebro Basin, is formed by a tectonically active border in the N (that corresponds to the Pyrenees) and a passive wedge in the 5 (that corresponds to the Catalan Coastal Ranges). During the Lower Eocene, a continental sedimentation of red alluvial fans (braid-delta type) took place in the passive margin close to the source area (probably the Montseny Massif). These deposits were allowed by a paleoweathering profile formed in the Paleozoic metamorphic and plutonic rocks, but before the alluvial sedimentation, a tertiary carbonade pedogenetic soil had grown up on the paleoweathering profile.
