Effect of variation of temperature on second-derivative fluorescence spectra. Part III. Correction of temperature coefficients for solvent scatter interference

Two procedures are described for the correction of temperature coefficients of fluorescence intensities and fluorescence spectral derivative amplitudes for interference that can arise from Raman or Rayleigh-Tyndall scattered light. One method is based on the calculation of corrected temperature coefficients from measurements individually corrected for the solvent reading. The other procedure is based on the separate determination of the temperature coefficient of the measured value in the spectra of the solvent at precisely the same wavelengths that are used for the fluorescent substance. The validity of correcting temperature coefficients for scatter interference and applications of the procedures are discussed.
