NON-LOCAL CONVECTION THEORY AND LTS APPLICATION TO SOLAR MODEL

2003
Based on the local turbulent convection theory given by Li & Yang (2001), we proposed a non-local convection theory with a gradient-type scheme, and applied it to solar models. The theory considers the non-local effects in the interior of convection zone. It gives a convection zone w ith evident diffusion effects, which differs from the original one given by MLT or local convection theory. However , our theory cannot deal with the time-dependent problems and overshooting now. These problems will be taken into account in our subsequent work. When applying this theory to solar models, we notice that it gives very tiny corrections to SSM. We discuss the phenomena as well as find the explanations.
