Adaptive Step Length Estimation Support Indoor Positioning System using Low-Cost Inertial Measurement Units

2021
In recent years, the interest in development of navigation systems and health-care devices concerning human movement begins to soar as its growing demand. Along with sophisticated system builds, low-cost tier also appears to be a competitive ground which starts to draw a lot of attention. In this research, we aim to propose an adaptive way of step length estimation using low-cost Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) for Indoor Positioning System (IPS). Unlike other methods, our algorithm of estimation does not require static axis preset, thus increasing the flexibility, mobility and adaptability for different purposes and circumstances.
