Measu rement of reed vibration by means of a capacitance pick-up

Reed vibration is an established method of analysing the dynamic mechanical properties of polymeric materials. The paper describes how capacitance change techniques can be used to measure reed vibration amplitude over a range of excitation frequencies and temperature and compares the results so obtained with those utilising more conventional methods.
