The present invention discloses a modular bilateral flux switching permanent magnet linear motor, comprising a motor primary and a motor secondary. Motor primary includes a plurality of primary modules, each primary module in turn includes a primary core, a permanent magnet and the armature windings arranged to form a dispersion of the primary core alveolar structure, the permanent magnets placed in the gullet, together with the adjacent permanent magnets form a primary core alternating vertical groove, the direction of magnetization of the permanent magnet adjacent to the contrary, an armature winding mounted in the groove; motor secondary includes a secondary core and a secondary salient pole, salient poles shifted position of the secondary pitch constant, the motor an air gap between the primary and the motor secondary. Armature windings and the permanent magnets are located in the primary motor, the motor to facilitate cooling; magnetic field in the motor form a closed loop through the primary and secondary down, the motor does not require the primary yoke portion iron core, reducing the weight of the motor primary; permanent magnets using poly magnetic effect, improving motor power density, to improve the utilization of the permanent magnet; improve the fault tolerance of the motor.
