Evaluation and Management on Contrast Media-induced Renal Injury

2009
OBJECTIVE: To discuss the problems related to the safety and coping strategy of contrast media-induced renal injury.METHODS: In view of the year-on-year increase of the incidence of the adverse drug reactions induced by contrast media,we analyzed the main reasons accountable for renal injury and the related problems induced by contrast media.RESULTS: Contrast media-induced radiographic contrast nephropathy, nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, specific reaction, and the problems such as skin test of iodine contrast media and local leakage were expounded respectively, and the corresponding preventive treatment was put forward.CONCLUSION: Medical staff should give importance to the safety of contrast media as well as the evaluation, monitoring and nursing in clinical use of contrast media so as to avoid the occurrence of serious adverse drug reactions induced by contrast media.
