Influence of stirrup arrangements on the corrosion characteristics of reinforced concrete members

Abstract The influence of different stirrup arrangements on the rust characteristics of concrete members was studied. By referring to different stirrup arrangements that were used in previous studies on accelerated corrosion, three kinds of members were designed. Additionally, in the same environment, the constant current-accelerated corrosion test was carried out. The results show that the stirrup mode has an important influence on the distribution of corrosion cracks, the damage of concrete cover and characteristics of rebar corrosion. In addition, different stirrup modes may have a great influence on the resistance performance of corroded beams.
