Wearing Resistance and Wearing Anisotropy of Natural and Synthetic Diamond

1997
The wearing resistance of natural and synthetic diamonds has been studied by using soft impressor slider technique at room temperature. The results showed that the diamonds were sensitive to the directions of sliding friction. There existed wearing anisotropy. The wearing resistance in direction was as twice as high that in direction. The reason for this phenomena was thought to be caused by the nitrogen atoms position in the diamonds lattice.
