An application of historical earthquakes information in Earthquake Early Warning

Earthquake Early Warning can provide the warning information to areas where near the epicenter for imminent strong ground shaking. Earthquake location method is the most important part of EEW. To meet the demand of location speed and simplicity of calculation, an application is been taken in Earthquake Early Warning by using historical earthquake information to locate the new earthquake. The historical earthquakes had been prepared with earthquake information and the recorded seismic stations information. By searching the similarity of the recorded seismic station order, the earthquake could be located rapidly. This method gets the accurate result for both local earthquake cases and teleseism cases. The result shows that this method meets the requirements of EEW for positioning speed need and simple computing demand. The accuracy of earthquake location could be improved by increasing historical earthquakes in database.
