Photoelectrochemical performance of titanium dioxide/Prussian blue analogue synthesized by impregnation conversion method as photoanode

2020
Abstract A series of titanium dioxide (TiO2)/Prussian blue analogue (PBA) composites with different TiO2 to PBA molar ratios were synthesized by impregnation conversion method and characterized by various techniques. The resultant composites are uniform and tight as demonstrated by SEM and HRTEM images. TiO2/PBA composites exhibit better photoelectrochemical performance than TiO2. Among the TiO2/PBA composites, the composite with TiO2 to PBA molar ratio of 5:1 exhibits the highest photoelectrocatalytic activity with 100 mV of the overpotential diminution, 0.21 V of the flat band potential decrease and 0.39 eV of the band gap reduction. PBA as a co-catalyst can effectively promote the charge separation and transportation and enhance the absorption efficiency of visible light.
