Computer Assisted Diagnostic Procedures in the Pain Clinic Using an Expert System

Recently medical knowledge has been increasing explosively with the advancement of research and practice. Physicians are requested to deal with this constant increment in knowledge and put it to best use in medical examination research and medical education. Because of the advancement of computer technology it has now become possible to formulate consultation systems for medical decision-making using expertise in the PC environment. We developed a representative knowledge based pain clinic consultation system described in Japanese for using by clinical clerks.
