Amyloidosis is a disease with various clinical presentations characterized by deposition of insoluble, misassembled fibril proteins (amyloid) that disrupt normal tissue structure and function. Amyloidosis is caused by up to 30 different proteins, including immunoglobulin light chain and transthyretin (TTR).
