Gobernabilidad y Buena Gobernanza: Expectativas Democráticas en Oaxaca

2015
The theory on governability and governance continues developing in the academia and joins with the practice of the national and international governments. However, its measurement has been difficult to secure the results to determine “good governance”, despite the fact that certain principles have been agreed for its understanding and basic indicators have been designed. The contribution of this paper is the application of some indicators in the analysis of governability and governance in the specific case of Oaxaca, one state of Mexican Republic, whose political change of 2010 sought stability and order from the interaction between social groups. There are two research questions for reflection: What is the social perception about governability in Oaxaca four years after the change? What interaction of good governance are built in the management of Gabino Cue? With the support of official information and results of a survey of perception applied to a conventional sample of 263 people, it is to provide answers to these questions and concludes that while there are positive developments in various issues, these are insufficient to achieve better living conditions in the state.
