The effect of X-ray radiation on the structural and electrical properties of CdZnTe solid solution

The effect of X-ray radiation from a standard X-ray tube on the structural imperfection and electrical properties of CdZnTe solid solutions was studied by precision X-ray diffraction analysis and the method of thermally stimulated capacitor discharge, respectively. Structural imperfection and the energies and concentrations of deep quantum states were changed irreversibly by the irradiation dose of about 0.5 J/cm2. The mechanism of these changes and the possibility of controlling electrical properties of the crystals by X-ray irradiation are discussed.
